Sponsored by the Napa Valley Register

Join the Precision Drill Team: Reach into that shed, dust off that gardening equipment, and take part in the Wagon & Wheelbarrow “Precision” Drill Team! Participants will march together in the parade with military-level elan and style, twirling and rolling through downtown Napa. A planning session will be held at the Napa Valley Register in mid-June to work on our smooth moves. Apply below! >

What you’ll need: A wagon (think Radio-Flyer, not Calistoga) or wheelbarrow, decorated in Red, White & Blue, a sense of humor, and an above-average level of whimsy. Adults tolerated, kids strongly encouraged.

What to leave behind: Anything sharp (take the pruning shears out of the wheelbarrow first), grumpiness, and non-service animals (alas, Fido is not allowed in the parade). Also, this ain’t Mardi Gras, so no throwing of candy or beads to the crowd. They’ll just have to be wowed by our grace alone.

Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 25 groups. Each $10 entry includes one wheeled device (i.e., the wagon or wheelbarrow) and up to four people. Have more than four? Buy another entry! Additionally, if you would like to sponsor a family – either someone in particular or as a general donation – let us know, and we’ll make sure it gets to the right person.

All money collected goes directly to Napa Sunrise Rotary, which funds programs locally and internationally to support students, combat Polio, and make our shared world a better place to live.

Payment is required to secure your spot, and you will receive a confirmation after both the application and payment have been completed.

Send via Venmo (@EditorDanEvans), Zelle ([email protected]), or drop off a check (made out to “Napa Sunrise Rotary”) at the Register’s offices at 1615 Soscol Ave. in Napa. Lobby hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed between 12 and 1 p.m. Please make sure it’s clear that the name on the application and the information on the payment type (by way of a note or memo) match.
